Step #5: Calorie Goal

Congrats on reaching the part of your program where you have a calorie goal! 

If you’ve gotten to this part of your program, that means that you have successfully learned the skills of portion control, measuring, and now tracking.

The next step will be for you to learn the skill of calorie management. 

According to your goals, diet history, progress thus far and a number of other variables, your coach will assign you a specific daily calorie goal to hit. 

That means that so long as you measure and track everything into MyFitnessPal (MFP) you are allowed to eat whatever it is that you would like. 

CRITICAL REMINDER: It is very easy for clients to start to get complacent after spending so much time measuring and tracking. Each bite you take outside of what you track in MFP adds up. It is very easy to fall into complacency by eyeballing and not exactly measuring. 

Know this: THE MORE ACCURATE YOU ARE IN MEASUREMENT AND TRACKING = THE BETTER RESULTS YOU WILL GET. 

Note: you do NOT need to worry about protein, carbs, or fats grams at this time. It is ONLY a calorie target. That is the skill/habit we are developing at this stage and then when you graduate to the next steps, we will start to give more specific macro targets.

This program is designed to go as fast or as slow as you need, just like learning how to swim or ride a bike, there are training wheels and with practice you WILL get it and it will become second nature. Take it slow. Communicate with your coach, we are here to help you.
